No Interaction Expected
Doravirine (DOR)
Medroxyprogesterone (depot injection)
Quality of Evidence: Very Low
Summary:
Coadministration with doravirine alone has not been studied but based on metabolism and clearance a clinically significant interaction is unlikely. Medroxyprogesterone is metabolized by CYP3A4. Doravirine does not inhibit or induce CYP enzymes and no effect is expected on medroxyprogesterone exposure. This was confirmed in a pharmacokinetic study comparing the Cmin of IM medroxyprogesterone when coadministered with doravirine, lamivudine, tenofovir-DF or a dolutegravir-containing regimen and which showed no significant differences in the GM Cmin of medroxyprogesterone between the two ARV treatment groups.
