Eviplera should not be administered concomitantly with other medicinal products containing emtricitabine.

Because Complera is a complete regimen, coadministration with other antiretroviral medications for the treatment of HIV-1 infection is not recommended. Coadministration of tenofovir (300 mg once daily for 7 days) and emtricitabine (200 mg once daily for 7 days) was studied in 17 subjects. There was no effect on emtricitabine Cmax or AUC, but Cmin increased by 20%; tenofovir Cmax, AUC and Cmin were unaltered.

Emtricitabine should not be taken with any other medicinal products containing emtricitabine.
